Vandals, Sweetcorn, Peas, Beans & Artichokes

Caught the intruders, chitting sweetcorn, sowing peas and beans, planting globe artichokes and my novel voting method gets a few raised eyebrows.

Gotcha! Vandals on Camera

Little vandals caught on camera on the plot, more planting spuds and a present for me with my birthday dosh.

Planting Potatoes

Planting potatoes whilst dodging the rain showers. Didn't get all done as per plan but a fair bit finished.

Potting Shed

Competition photos, a dog training video and spending time in the potting shed moving things on and sowing.

Carrots, Parsnips, Salsify & BBQ

A great day on the plot, BBQ snack lunch and sowing five types of carrots, parsnips and salsify plus borlotti beans and a bit more rotovating.

Vitopod Propagator

Electric Heated Plant Propagator – Vitopod

My slightly late birthday treat - the mother of all electric heated plant propagators. The Vitopod in the home greenhouse.

Sad News, Experiments & Rotovating

Still catching up, rotovating and planting out the broad beans (late!). The Gardener's World experiment on a raised bed that had strawberries and sad news about our old cat.

Clipstone Allotments

Back to the Future – Clipstone Allotments

A day out to Clipstone Allotments open day. Despite freezing weather, a warm welcome from everyone there.

Planting Asparagus & Potatoes

Planted asparagus and a few first early potatoes, finished digging plot 5 although it nearly killed me.

New Old Water Butts & Asparagus

New old water butts from the outlaws, asparagus to plant and globe artichokes. Plus some good news about the book.

Catching Up & The Last Leeks

Last of the leeks up, ready for potatoes in the raised bed coldframe and a moan about the telly.

NVS Meeting, Growing under Straw

Had an interesting talk at the NVS about growing on an allotment under straw and under plastic sheeting.

Rent Up! New Propagator Arrives

A busy week, book doing well, onion sets planted and new thermostatically controlled propagator arrives for the home greenhouse.

Wet on the Plot

A good long afternoon on a very wet allotment site. Repairing the greenhouse again and planting shallots as well as a bit of digging.

Stuck in the Potting Shed

Stuck in the potting shed with the weather not being so good. The house is turned into a nursery.

Vegetable Growing Book Available!

Vegetable growing book finally available. 30 years research can be yours for a modest price!

Finally On the Allotment

Finally back on the plot, stocking up on fertilizer and loads of leeks.

NVS Meeting, Garden Gadgets & Potatoes

NVS meeting at the chair's garden A useful garden gadget, one that didn't work and when to plant potatoes.

In the Potting Shed

Sowing in the potting shed and preparing for the coming storm.

Updating the Shop, Making Pastry

We've been quite busy in the background this week, updating the shop and making over the allotment food section.
