Preparing the Onion Bed

Not Enough Daylength!

It’s been quite a reasonable day but chained to the computer I didn’t see much of it, however Val spent the afternoon tidying up in the garden as the summer flowers are coming to an end.

So around 5pm I loaded the car with pots of spent compost and a huge bag of old flowers etc and to the plot. The spent compost will help the soil texture and the greenstuff goes to the compost bin.

That compost bin is like the Tardis – I swear it is bigger on the inside than the outside!

Preparing the Onion Bed

The salad bed on plot 29 got a couple more barrow loads of very well rotted horse manure and then out with the Mantis to mix it all together. It didn’t seem to take too long but I realised the sun was setting fast so headed for home.

It’s probably as well to let the predicted rain settle the soil before I plant, hopefully the coming weekend will be fine.
