First Runner Bean Harvest, Peas and Cauliflowers

Slighty Dull with one spot of rain

The weather is set fair for a while but the plots are drying out – not as bad as our continental cousins but pretty dry. So kept the sprinkler going on plot 5. The potatoes got a soaking as I can not get them up with the soil set into concrete.

Tomorrow the top end of the plot will get a go and probably plot 29.

Harvest

The first runner beans from plot 29 and about half a carrier bag of peas. Dorian peas seem to have large pods but are a little tricky to work out when they are ready.

More courgettes (of course) a few tomatoes and another cucumber. No sign of any french beans yet.

Cauliflower – yes I have managed to finally grow some. They are hardly show bench, well hardly Tesco truthfully but all mine and organic. Brought 3 medium ones home.

Weeding

Boy do they grow – so keeping on top of them is a job in itself. Oh well, they turn into compost.
