Too hot to Garden, Watering the Tomatoes

Moaning Again!

I reckon gardening is about moaning – “It’s too cold” or “It’s too wet” but now it’s become (wait for it) “It’s too HOT!”

Stagger down around 6pm to water the strawberries still in pots and feed the tomatoes with some comfrey manure. Noticed the weeds are leaping up on the deep beds of plot 29 so started pulling them.

By quarter to seven I had had enough. Dripping with sweat and thirsty headed the hundred yards back home clutching a few salad leaves.

Considering we were looking at moving to somewhere warmer – like Galicia – I don’t seem to cope well with heat. Never mind, this is England and it will be raining soon.
