Allotment Vegetable Growing in November 2009
Jim's Bean Trench
Fellow plotholder Jim was busy preparing his runner bean trench. It's quite simply a trench you fill with kitchen waste and by next spring when the beans go in, it's rotted down and providing nutrients as well as being a water sponge. Beans do like lots of water.

Still Tomatoes in Main Greenhouse
It's really quite amazing for mid-November. I've still got tomatoes ripening in the main greenhouse, not to mention lettuce and even some peppers at the back.
Although the weather's been wet and windy, it's also surprisingly warm. So until it changes I may as well leave things to grow on in here.
