Welcome to the Plot

After the snows went away (why I didn't take a few photos I don't know!) I took a wander around the site and came across this painted tile by one of the allotments.

I thought it was really sweet.

Being somewhat behind with things I thought I'd start my garlic off in pots this year to try and catch up a bit.

Apples - trained on wires

Apples - trained on wires

Took this shot on one of the plots of apples trained on wires. If you grow them on the right rootstock, fruit trees need not be huge old things.

You can see that you get a few 'trees' in quite a small space.

Blackcurrants in Bud

Blackcurrants in Bud

Everything looks awfully dead at this time of year, especially with a biting cold northerly wind cutting through your jumper. But nature is amazing, she knows spring is around the corner and she needs to be ready for it.

You can see the buds on this blackcurrant just waiting for the better weather to burst into life.

Despite being really cold, the sun was shining and I thought this showed the site at its best. All nicely dug over and ready for the spring.

You'll notice my plot isn't in the shot!

This is the side of the site where you come in. I just thought it made a nice photo with the large tree in the middle.

Only another month before the rush begins to get everything started off and planted up.
