Fast to mature which occurs in approximately 80-90 days from sowing. This variety yields a substantial, compact, and consistent head with outstanding flavour. It thrives until the head forms, typically about 10 days before the stems begin to sprout, resulting in a loss of uniformity in the Calabrese head.
The dark green heads are easily harvested by slicing along the base. Rinse and boil or steam once home. With proper protection, it can be cultivated throughout the winter months and performs exceptionally well as an early spring crop.
