Greenhouse Repaired

Greenhouse Repaired

After the big storm with it's high wind speeds, the big greenhouse had suffered a bit of damage, losing some glass and the side frame being a little twisted. This was after the repairs.

Leeks on Plot 29

Still got plenty of leeks on Plot 29, although the storm had even managed to blow a couple over. Behind and to the right you can just make out the garlic and Japanese onions in their deep bed.

Well I'd love to pretend I'm the perfect gardener and everything is as it should be - well here's the awful truth of plot 5 - wet and sadly in need of digging over.

Hope they let me stay in the NVS after this!

Sorting Seeds

Sorting Seeds
26/01/2007

It's that time of year again, sorting out what seeds are in stock and deciding what I need to grow. It's quite amazing how many you end up with;  half a packet here, a free seed offer from a magazine there and the half packets left over from last year.

Chitting Potatoes

Chitting Potatoes

It doesn't seem five minutes since I last pressed the spare bedroom into service. We don't heat it when no one is staying and it's above the unheated garage so it's always cool in there, which is ideal. North facing, it is light but doesn't get strong sunlight either.

This year's potato crop starting to shoot already - just hope nobody comes to stay for a bit.
