The Honey Bear squash is a charming acorn-shaped winter squash that features a striking dark green exterior and vibrant orange flesh. It is characterized by its compact bush-like growth, typically yielding an average of 3-4 fruits per plant. Known for its resistance to powdery mildew, this variety reaches maturity in about 85 days from the time of sowing.
It offers a delightfully sweet taste and excels when baked. Utilising half a squash makes for an ideal vegetable side dish for dinner, while using both halves and stuffing them with a ragu or even garlic and cheese makes for a whole meal.
With their compact growth habit, these plants are well-suited for smaller garden spaces.
Typically measuring around 4 inches (10 cm) in size.
