Dwarf Green Kale Seeds

Dwarf Green Kale (Curled) is a compact kale variety prized for its attractive appearance, featuring curly, deep green leaves. When the leaves are tender and young, they can be gathered for fresh salads, or allowed to mature for hearty winter greens. Whether steamed or fried, they offer a delicious treat packed with antioxidants and essential vitamins. If allowed to bloom, this kale variety becomes a valuable source of nectar and pollen for early bees.

To cultivate Dwarf Green Kale (Curled) you can sow directly to the ground but we recommend you begin by sowing seeds in modules and then transplanting them 6-8 weeks later. Plant them closely together in well-draining, moist soil, ensuring they receive full sun to partial shade. Maintain regular weeding and watering until the plants are firmly established. Harvest young leaves when the plants reach a height of just 5cm, allowing for continual regrowth.

This particular variety thrives year-round and can be cultivated both outdoors and under cover, such as in a greenhouse or polytunnel. Depending on growing conditions, the dwarf green kale typically reaches a height of approximately 45cm/18 inches.
