Radish Seeds - Giant Butter

An old Italian variety dating back to 1918. Grows to a grand size for a radish, yet does not go woody like most radish do when they get larger. This means you can expect radish at least 5cm in diameter and each one will be crisp and juicy, with a crimson skin and sparkling white centre. Giant Butter has a nice, mild flavour, so is ideal to add to salads either sliced or grated. Perfect for those that dont like spicy radish. Make first sowings in March, in a warm, sheltered position, followed by others at regular intervals, to ensure a constant supply of firm, mildly flavoured roots during spring and summer. Sow March-September. Harvest late April-October.

Radish Seeds - Giro F1

A fast-growing round radish, which is suitable for garden or protected growing. F1 types retain their quality longer than normal types. Its exceptionally red skin hides a tasty, crisp white heart. Delicious! What are F1 Hybrids?Seed can be either Open Pollinated or a F1 Hybrid. Open pollinated seed is naturally pollinated and genetically diverse. F1 hybrids are deliberately created by crossing two different parent varieties to produce a seed which has particular characteristics.Garden Organics Principles of Organic Gardening allow the use of F1 hybrids only when there are no other alternatives available to the grower. On these rare occasions, an organic F1 hybrid is preferred but, if unavailable, a non-organic F1 hybrid can be used.If youre growing to save seed, Garden Organic recommends choosing an Open Pollinated variety. F1 Hybrids are less likely to produce seed true to type or hold the same characteristics as the plant you saved it from.

Radish Seeds - Mooli

Developed by James Wong - Quick and unbelievably easy to grow. Crisp, peppery roots can store for winter use. Treat them mean and keep them keen! The dim sum favourite that's as foolproof as a garden radish to grow. Tastes like: Turnip & radish. The mooli, the exotic oriental sister of the normal radish, is not only easy to grow but is infinitely more fun in the kitchen. Baked, boiled, fried, shredded & transformed into some pretty fancy dim sum. They come into crop at the chilly end of autumn when little else exciting is rearing its head & unlike their ubiquitous European siblings, are rather tricky to find outside of Asian grocers. They even come in a bewildering array of colours, from pure white to acid green and even a version with a shocking pink heart. Make space for half a dozen of these and open up a whole range of new culinary experiences way beyond the scope of the sad supermarket types. Sow: July-September. Harvest: August-November.
