Time spent to prepare the ground properly will repay you many times over the years. Even from a pot-grown blackcurrant you can get enough of a crop for some jars of jam.

Blackcurrant : Ebony

The sweetest ever Blackcurrant! Outstanding dessert variety with a very high level of sweetness - giving a flavour that is as sweet as that of a tasty black cherry! The bushy plants have a slightly open, spreading habit which makes harvesting easy as well as adding to this variety's good mildew resistance.

Blackcurrant : Ben Connan

A heavy cropping, early to ripen, small bush variety, producing large 17mm (¾ inch) diameter glossy black fruits of excellent flavour. Ideal eaten as a dessert, used to make preserves and can be frozen.

Blackcurrant Plants - Ebony

Unlike most blackcurrants, which are primarily raised for juice production, Ebony has been specially selected for garden planting. Take one look and it's easy to see why: the size of the fruit is amazing - up to twice the size of other blackcurrants. But it's the taste that really sets Ebony apart as the fruit is exceptionally sweet with technical measurements suggesting it's the sweetest ever! Superb in fruit salads and sweet summer puddings.

Blackcurrant Big Ben

This spectacular Scottish-bred blackcurrant has huge fruit - some double the size of other varieties - and is very high yielding too. The fruits are produced early in the season and are sweet and juicy. Good resistance to mildew and leaf spot.
Our currants have a long cropping season, freeze well and are perfect for pies and jams or for garnishing and decorating desserts! Supplied as healthy one year old plants.

Blackcurrant Noirama

Noirama boasts such a high sugar content that it can be enjoyed as a dessert fruit! Plus it's one of the largest fruited blackcurrants available, and so easy to pick! With a strong upright habit and good disease tolerance, it will grow happily in most soils.
