Merry Tiller Serviced

Merry Tiller Returns

I’ve had the Merry Tiller serviced and picked it up from the shop today. Boy what a difference! Starts first easy pull – so no more blisters on my palm to get it going. Runs smoothly and keeps going with the throttle not on full. The soil is a bit soggy to actually give it a run through but I couldn’t resist starting it a couple of times.

The exact list of bits they put on is a bit daunting.

  • Spark Plug

  • Air Filter

  • Engine Oil

  • Recoil Rope

  • Points

  • Flywheel Key (I didn’t know it locked!)

  • Recoil Spring

  • Pulley Retainers

And the bill was ?87.43 including VAT. I only paid ?80.00 for it, but if it runs OK for the next 30 years, it hasn’t done badly.

I don’t think they’ve changed the chain oil so I may try and do that myself.

National Vegetable Society meeting tonight – anyone in the area is welcome to come.

Details here so I’m off.
