Planting Solent Wight Garlic

More Garlic

Dobies delivered the missing two bulbs of Solent Wight garlic this morning so in my nice dry greenhouse I potted them up whilst the rain dripped outside.

About 40 cloves from the two bulbs.

The greenhouse is pretty full now – I keep kicking myself for not building it a bit bigger. Never mind, I have one to construct awaiting me on the site.

Weather

They kept threatening a really cold winter this year but we’ve only had a few days of really sharp frosts. Although it is about 10 degrees out there as I write, I suspect we may get a cold snap in February or even March.

All these mild winters have made us pretty complacent about our plants and despite the global warming I wouldn’t be surprised if mother nature sends a load of snow.
