National Vegetable Society Meeting

National Vegetable Society Meeting

Having been away since Sunday morning, I’ve not had chance to go down to the plot and get on with anything.

Last night we had a meeting of the Crewe and Nantwich District Association of the National Vegetable Society. Try saying that after a few drinks! We didn’t have a speaker but we did sort out a provisional schedule for next year and agreed to a few things to generate members.

After the meeting we had a fund raising raffle – I donated my excess seeds and a bottle of wine. Since I had quite a few packets, more than required, the excess were donated to BUGS.

After the meeting some of the members had brought sandwiches and mince pies so a small party ensued. It was really nice.

Working with computers, I’m quite sensitive to people going glassy eyed when I talk about what I do. I’m also quite diplomatic (I think).

Person ‘I don’t need anti-virus, it’s just a con to get money from you’

Me, ‘You can get a free anti-virus, if you want’ and I don’t say ‘so you can stop your computer sending your $?”! virus to everyone on your list and people like you shouldn’t be allowed technology

But I digress. I mentioned the recipes on here to a veg grower who went glassy eyed. Yes there really are men who grow the stuff but have no idea what happens between it leaving the ground and landing on the plate.
