Digging and Adding Lime to the Soil

Liming and Digging

This should be 7th & 8th really – the last couple of days have been really busy. The spirit is willing…

I managed to lime beds 4 & 5 on plot 5 – where the broad beans amd brassicas are going. Both crops like lime and it was overdue.

Harvested some leeks for tea. They’re getting to the point of needing to be harvested. Since we have quite a few, I suppose we will have to try freezing some. Leeks are too watery to freeze well but it’s better than wasting them.

Dug over a fair chunk of bed 7 – upto where the leeks are – but despite the opportunity of good weather, my back is really giving me hell.

Time to do some special sciatica exercises.

I spent a fair few hours drafting a chart on when to sow and harvest for this site. Surprising how long it takes. Still, of value to me and to visitors, I hope.
