Planting Brassicas and Using the Mantis Tiller

Sunny weather so to the plot at 3pm until 8pm

Planted brassicas (Cauliflower and Cabbages)  on plot 29, which I covered with cloches to keep the pigeons at bay. Covered the open ends of the cloches  with wire so air will go through but, hopefully not those fat birds.

Filled the strawberry bed with the remaining plants – 5 over to place somewhere.

Used the Mantis to weed between the rows of peas and broad beans as well as to clean off the weed seedlings before planting the brassicas and before sowing on plot 5.

Added a short row of  turnips, another patch of spinach , 2 rows of carrots and 3 rows of parsnip Avonresister. I know it is very late for parsnips but the seed expires this year so nothing to lose really
