Creosote and White Wine
Dropped down to the plot with Val early evening and she got busy picking the beans while I started creosoting the beams I cut yesterday for the base of the second greenhouse.
We took the car because we had a large bag of garden waste, two pots of soil due to the flowers finishing and the kitchen compost bin. Into the posh bin, which has again sunk dramatically to turn into more compost with everything but the soil from the pots, which will add some humus to one of the deep beds.
Well Val finished her picking and returned home followed a little later by me as I had run out of creosote. Down to Wickes for a another 4L (?5.98 Ouch!) and back to the plot where I finished the beams and gave the top of the other greenhouse base a second go to.
The job took a little longer than it should as I joined the couple from plot 28 for a glass of wine. Well, a plastic cup but it still tasted great. Something about watching the sun go down in good company with drink is absolutely sublime,
Hard work this allotment lark.
