Building a Greenhouse Base

Wonderful Weather

Just too good to spend all day inside, so down to the plot this afternoon in warm sunshine. Just after I arrived, David from the corner plot arrived driving his Howard Gem. What a wonderful machine, driving wheels, gears and reverse. It made mincemeat of his double plot in no time.

There were quite a few people on the site so I didn’t get as much done as I should. After a chat with David, a cup of tea with Mark on plot 1. He”s got a gas ring and all the makings in his shed.

The greenhouse base is in position but I still seem to be missing a corner bracket. I think I can make one by adapting one off a scrap greenhouse so if the weather is fine, construction will continue tomorrow.

It was harder work than I thought, eight by four beams are pretty heavy and cutting to length seems to take an age by the third cut. Getting it level and square was a bit of a game as well. Still picking splinters from my hands from the beams.
