Potatoes and Free Seeds Arrive

Mud, mud, glorious mud

Took the kitchen compost waste bin down to the plot and as it was not raining an quite warm thought I’d do a little digging. I managed about three foot but the soil was so heavy with water, which rushed into the hole as I dug, that it was useless.

Hopefully it will dry out a little and I’ll be able to get some much needed exercise.

Potatoes arrived

Thompsonand Morgan delivered my potato order today. I’ll set them out for chitting tomorrow. The free seeds arrived as well, namely:

  • Leek – Autumn Giant 2 Argenta, apparently can stand until May

  • Radish – Sacrlet Globe

  • Carrot – Nantes Frubund, a highly commended by the RHS cold resistant variety.

  • Lettuce – Lakeland, a crisphead variety

  • Runner Bean – Enorma, exceptionally large pods.

Not a bad freebee!
