More Leaves for Leafmould and Parsnips Doing Well

More leaves and path refurbishment

Down to the plot around 2pm where I started by scraping off the soil in front of the compost bins on plot 5. It’s actually a mixture of rotted wood chippings, leafmould and spilled compost from the bins, so I thought it would do better on the plot.

After taking about two inches up, I spread the wood chippings piled up last night and the main path on plot 5 was finished.

There was still some wood chippings left, amazingly, and these went onto plot 29 giving a path to the leafmould bin that was not slippy.

Followed this by a few more barrow loads of leaves into the bin and then dug up some parsnips and spring onions before heading for home.

The parsnips are rather pleasing this year – large but not woody and now they are frosted, they should be sweet.

One last thing, I sat on the bench and watched the sun set over the trees. Amazing!
