Merry Tiller Rotovating and Keeping Chickens on the Allotment

Merry Tiller to Work

Down to Sainsbury for 5 litres of 4 star then to the plot. Filled the Merry Tiller and then rotovated the patch on plot 29 where I dug in the green manure and spread the rotted turkey litter. That mixed things up well.

Then down to plot 5 where the patch where the early potatoes had been. Mixed in the last of the compost bin. I’d stacked some turves under the turkey litter in the bin and now they are ready to use as a soil improver.

Ran the rotovator over the patch after and left the soil looking quite good. Tomorrow I’ll sow some mustard green manure over it.

5 hours just whizzed by but the back aches a bit.

Chickens

There are a number of us on the site that want to keep chickens. Now this is against the rules so we’ve asked our allotment rep, Larry, to intercede with the great white chief of the council. If big chief say no indians may go on warpath!
