Planting Dwarf French Beans, Green Manure Growing

Just a few hours today – basically everything is under control.

Planted a few dwarf beans – Tendercrop on plot 5. Raised in pots and fitted in to a little space left by the beans alredy there.

Harvested a few more broad beans. Some of the plants are dying off for some reason. I don’t really know why, but just stripped any pods off them and added them to the compost heap. Took the opportunity to clear a few weeds from there as well.

Weeded a bit around the sweetcorn and the carrots but there aren’t too many!

Next to plot 29 where I weeded around the peas as some were about to set seed. Lost a couple of plants in the process. I hate close weeding peas, always manage to pull out a plant or two.

The mustard green manure is popping up and all looks well for the recent rains -especially the potatoes.

Eat a few of Gaynor’s strawberries whilst chatting to her and Larry. Roumer is that she has first prize and I second. Most unfair!!

Meeting tomorrow night – should be interesting. I’ll post a report after.
