The weatherman kept his promise and we got some much needed rain this morning with some sunny spells in the late afternoon.

I also had my growbag watering pots delivered so to the greenhouse.

When I opened the packet, I thought I had made a mistake – what would they do that an ordinary pot put into the growbag would not do? Actually they are very clever. The lip on the base ensures the water gets out into the bag freely and the top enures it does not go everywhere but where you want it. A good buy.

Beans Top Tip

At the beginning of the month I passed on a tip regarding germinating beans and tried this with some Twiggy Kenya beans and some Tendercrop French beans. Well the Twiggy are showing no sign of anything but the Tendercrop have about 50% germination.

I carefully planted these into 2?” square black pots, placed into the coldframe to encourage them. My only fear is that the very delicate little root will be damaged by the process. As I know I have 100% germinated seeds into the pots, I can measure the losses, if any, pretty well. More on this later when they pop up.
